Rexa Han
Pianist
American pianist of Chinese origin, Rexa Han has performed with great success across Europe, North America, and Asia. A child prodigy, she made her debut in her hometown at the age of five. During her teenage years, she won major national competitions and performed throughout China to wide acclaim. She studied at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing and was awarded a full scholarship to the Manhattan School of Music in the United States. She graduated with highest honours, receiving the President’s Award and the prestigious Munz Scholarship. In 2018, she was granted a full scholarship and stipend to pursue her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami.
As a concert pianist, Rexa Han has given solo recitals across Europe, Asia, and the United States. She has performed in prestigious venues including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Steinway Hall, Yamaha Center, the Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and the Poly Theatre in Beijing, among others. She has been invited to major international festivals such as the International Piano Festival in Spain, the International Keyboard Institute and Festival in New York City, the Shanghai International Music Festival, the InterHarmony International Music Festival in Italy, the Echos International Music Festival in Italy, and the Palermo Classical Music Festival in Sicily. She has also appeared frequently on radio and television, including WQXR in New York, WWFM Classical Network in New Jersey, WFMT in Chicago, and Chinese national television.
In 2011, she won First Prize at the 62nd Kosciuszko Chopin International Piano Competition in New York City. In 2012, she was granted the U.S. “Extraordinary Ability” green card upon recommendation by Van Cliburn. Her CD A Tribute to the Piano was released on Elmaleh Collection (vec. 102) under the Concert Artist Guild, and her upcoming album Déjà vu will be released in Sicily by Palermo Classica.
