Alexia Mouza

Alexia Mouza was born in Athens in 1989 and began taking piano lessons with her mother, Patricia Arenas. From 1999 to 2013, she attended the International Piano Academy in Imola (Italy), under the guidance of Leonid Margarius and Anna Kravtchenko.

She continued her postgraduate studies at the College of Fine Arts at Boston University (USA), under Boaz Sharon, thanks to scholarships from the Greek State and Boston University. She earned her Artist Diploma in 2013.

She subsequently enrolled at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music in Tel Aviv, Israel, under the guidance of Arie Vardi. In 2015, Alexia was awarded a prize by the Athens Academy for her work as a pianist.

At the age of 11, she won first prize at the 2000 Filon Piano Competition (Greece). She won third prize at the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition (Japan, 2015) and was a finalist at the Rubinstein International Piano Competition (Israel, 2021), where she was awarded the Chopin Prize.

Alexia has performed as a soloist with the Mexico State Symphony Orchestra, the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento, the Kazakhstan State Symphony Academy of Soloists, the Athens and Thessaloniki State Orchestras, and many others. She participated in the Caracas Young Pianists Festival, giving a recital and performing with the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela.

He has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York, Concert Hall in Hong Kong, Konzerthaus in Berlin and Philharmonie in Berlin, Tsai Performance Center, Sala Verdi in Milan, Accademia Filarmonica in Bologna, Mozarteum in Salzburg, Megaron Mousikis in Athens and Thessaloniki, Sala Simon Bolivar and Fedora Aleman in Caracas, Bunka Kaikan Recital Hall in Tokyo, ACT City Main Hall in Hamamatsu, Hong Kong Concert Hall and others.

Alexia has been a guest at the international festivals Sächsisches Mozartfest (Germany), The Semaine Musicale (Switzerland), Si-Chuan International Piano Festival (China), Paderewski Festival of Raleigh (USA), International Mozart Festival in Hokkaido (Japan).

She has been invited to the International Festivals of Athens, Thessaloniki, Nafplio, Heraklion, Aegina, Samos, Kalamata, and Santorini in Greece. She has also participated in numerous international festivals in Italy, including Maggio Fiorentino, Pomeriggi Musicali, the MITO Festival, and the Bach and Bartók Festival.

In 2016-2017 he participated in the European project L’Europe du piano.

Alexia has also been a piano teacher for eight years. She has held masterclasses for El Sistema (Venezuela), the University of Antioquia (Colombia), the Municipal Conservatory of Kozani (Greece), and the city of Cetara (Italy). She holds masterclasses annually for the Municipal Conservatory of Kalamata and the Contemporary Music School of Heraklion (Greece).

He collaborates with the El Greco Trio.
