David Khrikuli

Pianist

Born in Georgia in 2001, pianist David Khrikuli is quickly establishing himself as one of the most compelling voices of his generation. His performances have attracted extraordinary attention for their depth of expression, luminous structural clarity, and rare control of dynamics.
Winner of numerous international competitions, Khrikuli won First Prize at the International Piano and Orchestra Competition in Cantù in 2024 (Italy) and First Prize together with the Audience Prize at the International Piano Competition in Vigo (Spain). He was also a finalist at the 2025 Chopin International Piano Competition, where his performances captivated both the jury and the audience, earning acclaim that went far beyond the competition’s official results. His previous awards include First Prize and Special Prize at the Aarhus International Competition (Denmark), First Prize at the Chopin National Piano Competition in Tbilisi (Georgia), as well as various prizes at the Nutcracker International Television Competition (Russia), the Astana Piano Passion (Kazakhstan) and the Arthur Rubinstein International Competition for Young Pianists (China).

He began his piano studies in Tbilisi at the Central School of Prodigy Children’s Music “Zakaria Paliashvili” under the guidance of Revaz Tavadze, later perfecting his skills with Galina Eguiazarova and Stanislav Ioudenitch at the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid. He has received scholarships from the Jaime Castellanos and Albéniz foundations, held the chair of piano at the Banco Santander Foundation, and, in 2022, received the diploma from Her Majesty Queen Sofia as the most outstanding student in her chair.
Khrikuli has performed as a soloist with the Georgian Philharmonic, the Israel Camerata, the Israel Philharmonic and the Moscow Philharmonic, also giving solo and chamber music concerts throughout Europe. At the Reina Sofía School he has been the protagonist of concert festivals such as La Generación Ascendente (Madrid) and AIEnRUTa-Clásicos (Albacete), also performing with the Trio Schumann, the Duo Ravel and the Trio Austrias.
Khrikuli is currently on a tour of Poland with stops in Toruń, Kraków and Poznań, and has scheduled engagements with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Wrocław National Music Forum (Wrocław) and the Kraków Philharmonic. He will also return to Mallorca and the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, and make his debut in Berlin.
Ready for a thriving international career, Khrikuli is a musical force to be reckoned with.
