Andrea Calce

Tenor

The young tenor Andrea Calce (28 years old) was born in Sessa Aurunca, in the province of Naples (Italy). He graduated from the G. Martucci Conservatory in Salerno and from the Opera Academy of Osimo, studying with William Matteuzzi and Raina Kabaivanska.

In 2020 he studied at the Puccini Academy in Torre del Lago as part of the Puccini Festival. In the same year, he made his debut as Ferrando in Mozart’s Così fan tutte at the Teatro Savoia in Campobasso, directed by Stefano Vizioli.

In 2021 he performed the roles of the Commissioner/Bruschino’s Son in Rossini’s Il Signor Bruschino at the Klassik Festival Schloss Kirchstetten in Austria. That same year, he was admitted to the advanced training academy of the Teatro San Carlo in Naples under the direction of Mariella Devia.

At the Teatro San Carlo, he performed Spoletta in Tosca, Don Galafrone in Paisiello’s Don Chisciotte della Mancia, Selimo in Rossini’s Maometto II, and La Bohème (as Parpignol and cover for Rodolfo) in a production directed by Emma Dante. He also performed under the baton of Michele Mariotti in a staging by Calixto Bieito. In 2024 he sang the role of Paolino in Il matrimonio segreto, directed by Giacomo Sagripanti, at the Teatro Gesualdo in Avellino.

He then appeared as tenor soloist in Rossini’s Stabat Mater in Pleven, Bulgaria. In July of the same year, he performed Camille de Rossillon in The Merry Widow at Opera al Laghetto in Venafro.

In 2025 he sang the role of Ferrando in Mozart’s Così fan tutte at Castel Sant’Elmo in Naples with the Mercadante Orchestra. He subsequently appeared as tenor soloist in The Seven Last Words of Christ.
