Nefeli Mousoura

The Greek pianist Nefeli Mousoura gave her debut recital at the Salzburg Festival in July 2019. She performs regularly in Greece, Austria, Italy, Germany, Russia and the United States, and has toured throughout China.

Born in Athens, she currently divides her time between Salzburg and Athens, where she gives recitals, chamber music concerts and performs with orchestras, including: the Armonia Atenea Orchestra, the Athens Philharmonia Orchestra, the Israeli Raanana Symphonette, the Orpheus Kammerorchester Wien, the Mozarteum University Symphony Orchestra, the I Maestri Orchestra of London, the ‘Mihail Jora’ Symphony Orchestra of Bacău, the State Symphony Orchestras of Athens and Thessaloniki, the Greek National Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Athens Municipal Symphony Orchestra, and the Patras Symphony Orchestra.

She has won prizes at international competitions such as the Campillos International Competition in Spain and the prestigious ‘Young Pianists’ Prize’ awarded by the Academy of Athens. She has also been awarded scholarships by the Onassis Foundation, the Foundation for European Education and Culture, the Athens Megaron Music Friends Society and the Gina Bachauer Foundation.

Nefeli has made recordings for Greek radio and has appeared on Greek television on several occasions. She also took part as a pianist in the documentary “Salzburg 200” produced by the Austrian broadcaster ORF.

Nefeli holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree, both with first-class honours, in solo piano performance from the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. Her teachers were Anastasios Pappas, Rolf Plagge and Imre Rohmann.
