Sang Eun Kim

Soprano

Sang Eun Kim, soprano native of South Korea, is a student of Sung Hee Park. She graduated with highest honours in Music from Ewha Womans University in Seoul, where she also received First Prize.
Later, with the aim of perfecting her linguistic skills and engaging directly with the Italian artistic tradition—particularly opera—she moved to Alba, where she further refined her vocal studies at the “Lodovico Rocca” Musical Institute under Sonia Franzese.
She subsequently graduated with honours from the Conservatorio “Antonio Vivaldi” in Alessandria, completing the two-year Master’s degree in Opera Singing under Riccardo Ristori. She further perfected her training at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole and at the Institut Royal Supérieur de Musique (IMEP) in Belgium with Patrizia Ciofi.
Active as both soloist and chamber musician, she has performed in numerous musical centres in Italy and abroad. She is an Artist in Residence at the Alba Music Festival, and has appeared at the Scatola Sonora International Festival, where she made her debut in the role of Adina in Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore in Milan and Alessandria.
In 2021 she received the “Special Prize for Best Lieder Performance” at the International A. Rubinstein Competition in Düsseldorf.
