Dance in Time: A journey through styles, eras and continents
This concert is a fascinating musical journey through centuries, cultures, and languages, a dance-filled journey that unites the Renaissance grace of William Byrd, the Baroque elegance of J.S. Bach, the Romantic lyricism of Chopin, and the folk soul of Lecuona, Strauss, and Piazzolla.
From the pavane and galliarda of the English court to Bach’s English suite, from the nostalgic Polish mazurkas to the colorful Cuban danzas, through the majestic transcription of the Blue Danube to the energy of Libertango, the program celebrates dance as a universal expression and an inexhaustible source of musical inspiration.
Each piece is a stage in this journey in which the piano becomes an interpreter of distant cultures, diverse eras, and profoundly human sensibilities.
