Artistic technique will be the theme of this Masterclass, which will cover each historical period according to the student’s needs.
Technique is mostly approached as a series of movements, often standardized according to the piano school of reference, sometimes tied to a particular nation: the Russian school, the French school, or the teacher’s school, the Vitale school, the Scaramuzza school, etc.
Regardless of a correct piano setting, which is always essential for a pianist, he/she must acquire a further awareness that can go beyond the standard and seek and find the right means to express a phrase, a note, a phrase.
This first of all involves working on the score and a plan, as pianists from the Golden Age of piano often communicate to us through their performances and masterclasses still available on the web, as well as through the testimonies of their students.
The pursuit of deeper expression, nuance, and a sound that resonates with the audience, along with a variety of intentions and the identification of appropriate techniques, will be the foundation of the Masterclass. Therefore, it will be a journey of interpretative and technical awareness, respecting individual individuality and needs.
